waa...so sad...the Singapore Zoo icon or idol dust passed away. Now, they aredebating on who should be the noext idol.
The nominations are: Chawang the elephant
Inuka the Polar Bear
Pedro the Otter
...and many more...
Actually, to tell you the truth, I disliked her because she is just another animal in the zoo and they treat her like a Queen. but after I read the article about Ah Meng and her 'amazing' feats, I still feel the same about her.

I once attended a birthday function for one of my extremely religious relatives. His friends were all ‘highly religious’ people who were out to save the whole world and said so in as many words as they could. The series of boring events started when the guests started arriving. As soon as they were introduced to me, all they could do was to pry into my religious beliefs. I had always maintained that religion was a matter between my God and me and was put off by the series of questions which sought to establish if my soul has been saved and, since it was not, if it could be saved. With all due respect to religion, I had maintained that I choose not to discuss such a high topic at a function meant to enjoy ourselves. Obviously my would-be converters were shocked at my attitude and said so. I felt uncomfortable and bored. I was all for religion of course, but I believe that there is a time and place for everything.
The preliminaries were nothing compared to what happened later. Before the cake was cut and the food was served, there was a series of speeches. A few of my relatives and friends went one by one. They all had only one topic: How they had found ‘God’.
I could not help noticing that “I am holier than thou” attitude prevailed even amongst themselves. There were tears and cheers. I was bored, almost to tears but controlled myself. I saw the depth of their religious fervor when the food was served. Everyone rushed like there was no tomorrow. There was no food left for those at the back of the queue with me. Even the birthday boy did not get any food either and it served him right for inviting a bunch of creeps. I sighed at the bunch of hypocrites and sneaked out to the hawker centre for a decent meal.
It was the worst day of my entire life and I hope that other parties I will attend will be more exciting.
